PSA Airlines Offers New Transition Program For Military Aviation Maintenance Mechanics To Begin Their Commercial Aviation Career

DAYTON, Ohio – PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, announced its plans to offer an industry-leading program that will offer separated military aviation maintenance mechanics to transfer into the commercial aviation industry. Experienced military maintenance mechanics, coming from either a fixed or rotary-wing background, who are interested in earning their Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license are eligible to receive up to $10,000 to assist with the transition. PSA is supporting this military transition by sponsoring the full cost of the A&P course, FAA license testing, tools and toolbox.

Additionally, once a military aviation mechanic transitions to an FAA licensed A&P mechanic through this program, they will join PSA with industry-leading first-year pay and unparalleled benefits, including the following:

Interested candidates will need to obtain the 8610-2 from a FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in order to take the PSA-verified course. Upon completion of the transition course and once a mechanic obtains their A&P license, they will be committed to PSA and have the opportunity to start working at one of PSA’s eight maintenance facilities.
