The Faces of PSA – Meet Hannah Allen

hannah allenName: Hannah Allen

Title: Reliability Analyst

How long have you worked for PSA? I have worked for PSA for almost a year and a half.

How long have you been in the airline industry? This is my first airline job.

Give us a brief overview of what you do: Reliability analyzes maintenance delays and cancels as well as reoccurring problems within the maintenance system.

What is one of the biggest challenges of your job? The biggest challenge of my job is working with people over the phone. Conference calls are a daily part of life, however, nothing beats a face-to-face meeting.

How many roles have you had at PSA? Which is your favorite? I started at PSA in Crew Scheduling, then moved to Maintenance Reliability. While I enjoyed both roles, being an analyst is what I went to college for.

Where’s your favorite place you have traveled? I love San Diego, because it is very beautiful and modern. However, I also love Gatlinburg and being in the mountains.

What are some of your hobbies? I play the Flute and Piccolo. I love anything to do with music.

Where have you played flute and/or piccolo? I was in Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Flute Choir, and Woodwind Choir. I was also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, which is a Service Fraternity dedicated to the bands. So I was very busy and loved filling my life with Music.

What do you love about working for PSA? My favorite part of my job is the people I work with. Everyone is very caring and generous.

Why would you recommend PSA? I would definitely recommend PSA. This is my first grown-up job out of college and it is a great starting place.

What did you do before coming to PSA? I graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in Political Science. I then started at PSA a few months later.

You said you went to college to be an analyst, but you have a Political Science degree. What is the connection? I do have a degree in Political Science, however it mostly consisted of statistics and analytical work. My degree was focused more on how to collect and interpret data. Even though the information I was gathering was polling numbers or general public opinion numbers, it is all analyzed the same way.

Tell us something about your role that most people don’t know: I have a duel role in the Reliability Department. Half of my job is investigating and collecting information through CASS and Root Cause Analysis. The other half of my job consists of analyzing information that we have collected, or that has been provided to us by other departments.

What has been the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is being able to see a difference being made. By implementing fixes, you can actually watch the problem decrease within months.

Tell us something no one knows about you: It’s not really a secret, but I am a huge nerd. I love anything Syfy or comic book related. I like the new Marvel Universe that has been created as of recent, but I will always be a DC girl at heart.
